This is exactly what I was looking for. Patterns Afghans is awesome and was the best investment I ever made.
If natives of Afghanistan are Afghans does that make natives of Pakistan Paks?
They're usually called Pakistanis, Patterns Afghans but that doesn't fit the pattern (Afghans, Uzbeks, Tajiks, Khazaks, etc.....)Can't someone ask a question without getting insulted around here?So glad they've introduced that 'block user' thing....

I have patterns for knitting the round for doilies but you would have to have the 4 sharp end needles. Don’t know of too many places you can get patterns for free but what I did was to go in and ask for what I wanted it : suggestion “free knitting round table cloth (bedspread) patterns”

You will need to learn to change colors – bring the new color through the last two loops of the last color and it’s ready to go. http://www.stitchdiva.com/custom.aspx?id=129 Don’t be intimidated by charts or row counts. You can do these. If you don’t want to do the afghan in tunisian, you can do the same pattern in single crochet. The only challenge you’ll have is reading the chart or row count forward one row and backward the next. But you can do this – just mark the rows off as you go. I couldn’t find a free pattern but I found a cheap one:http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=1772329This is a cute idea. You could make a round afghan something like this. http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/5512/2308/640/IMG_4346.jpg Here’s a free round how-to – just make it as big as you wanthttp://barney.gonzaga.edu/~aburton/crochrnd.htmlOtherwise, my last idea is just to do an afghan with what you know in the cub colors. It can be any pattern you like, just stripe it in cub colors.

Check out Redheart.com they can maybe help you with your question. If my dear Mother was alive I could call her, she was an avid yarner, crochet and knitting was her first love. I have all her hand work and crochet needles and knitting needles. From chair coverings to full length crocheted pineapple design, tableclothes and doillies.I can do a little chain stitching and knitting but nothing like she was able to create.

Mary Maxim has one that is round, but you would have to purchase the kit. Other than that, I would say be creative, adapt the baby patterns you’ve found to a larger size by using larger yarn and a larger hook, and addind rows. It’s usually easy to add rows once the pattern is established… Good Luck!

Granny squares were popular for afghans, ponchos and vests during the hippie era. They are easy to make and stitch together. You can use any color(s) that you like and consider to be retro. The patterns are basically all the same, so if you google “granny squares afghan crochet pattern.” You can make as many squares as you like to make any size afghan you want.Have fun!Smiles, Sue

What you want is a feather and fan afghan! It’s a really easy and easy-to-memorize knitting pattern, and it looks somewhat similar to a ripple afghan.http://www.thedietdiary.com/blog/lucia/1069http://www.jenipurr.com/knitpurr-gallery/blankets/feather_and_fan_afghan.htmlI tried to find a couple that had both patterns and pictures, but they’re all the same basic thing!

You probably have something with the mask on it, right? get yourself some knitter’s graph paper and trace the mask onto it then you can use that to graph a pattern for a hat or whatever with that picture on it. there are websites that will do it for you, but I’ve never tried itgood luck!

You can do almost any afghan with as many strands of yarn as you want, you just need to use a bigger hook and not as many starting chains (unless you want a bigger afghan). In books, I have seen patterns that use three or even up to six strands of yarn. Here are some free patterns:http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/19806/easy_4_hour_crochet_afghan_pattern.html?cat=24 (no picture)http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/cjif-5.htmlhttp://www.garnstudio.com/lang/en/visoppskrift.php?d_nr=99&d_id=30〈=enhttp://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/cjif-doubleStrandAfghan.htmlhttp://crochetcabana.com/Patterns/Afghans/double-strand-x-st-petit.pdf (this is a PDF file)There’s also this book:http://www.amazon.com/Afghans-Double-Crochet-Treasury-Leisure/dp/0942237900
