Three things, I have a book and will have to look it up and you can see if you can find it or I would have to type it out for you as I don’t know how to scan and send it to you or copy it and mail it. I also have a pattern for a broomstick lace that is similar but you have an edge and won’t have to worry about how to fasten the top off. e-mail meEDIT I am sorry I did not know how short the directions were so here goes.Crochet hook F or 58 oz sport yarn [or baby yarn]3″ hairpin loomGauge: 5 sc per inchNOTE: Yarn is worked double throughout. Each loop has two strands of yarn which will be referred to as a SINGLE LOOP. Make 14 strips of 120 Single Loops on on each side of the loom. Join Single Loops by pulling 2 single loops through 2 single loops always starting at the same end and working from right side. Fasten last 2 single loops securely. Finish sides by pulling 2 single loops through2 single loops. Weave in all ends. EDGING – - -Make a strip of hairpin lace long enough to go around four sides of blanket allowing a little extra for fullness at corners. It is better to have too much as it can be pulled out. Finish one side of this strip by pulling 2 single loops through 2 single loops. This side will be sewed to the edge of the blanket. Leave single loops on the other side loose to form fringes. This may be cut if desired.

I have crocheted dozens of afghans for gifts and for myself. And the general consensus is that they hate fringe. It is pretty, but it tickles your nose, your toes or sheds or WHATEVER…… I would suggest folding under a tiny edge and mattress stitch around the edges. Use a highlight color from the design and go all the way around. It really has a nice effect on a cross-stitch blanket.

  3. DishclothDiaries Says:

Mary Maxim has one that is round, but you would have to purchase the kit. Other than that, I would say be creative, adapt the baby patterns you’ve found to a larger size by using larger yarn and a larger hook, and addind rows. It’s usually easy to add rows once the pattern is established… Good Luck!

  4. Pissed off pussycat! Says:

Simply by cutting the stitches down. You don’t give any information. Let’s say it’s 10 double crochet and 5 half crochet, tune it down to 5 db crochet and 2 half crochet.

  6. addybme Says:

are you trying to finish it off??? Or are you trying to make it smaller some how??? If you are trying to make it smaller at whatever point you are at, your going to end up with an odd kind of a shape….it will start curling up, almost like your making a bag or something. you can email me at addybme@yahoo.comif you are having pattern issues, email me the part you are having problems with and maybe I can help you sort it out.

http://www.lionbrand.com has lots of patterns. They are all rated from beginner to advanced.

You would start with the Pink for the first 10 rows.On row 11, knit 10 with the pink and then change the color, do the pattern across to the last 10 stitches, change back to pink to knit those stitches. You would then continue with the pattern just doing the pink on either end. Note that you will be knitting from one green skein and two pink skeins. Depending on how big a skein of pink you have, I would knit from both ends, the outside and the middle.Your last 10 rows and cast off should be done in the pink the same as the first 10 rows. The only part you have to be careful with is making sure that when you change the colors each time, you bring the new yarn around the old yarn or you will have holes where you change colors. Here is a website showing how to switch between colors if you are unsure:http://www.purlbee.com/intarsia-knitting-tutorial/This is a picture showing how your afghan should look, although it is only in one color:http://www.leisureartslibrary.com/cart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=12&idproduct=22Hope this helps. Good luck.

Try the website http://www.marktplaats.nlIt is like ebay and because advertising is free, it is more used than Ebay within the Netherlands. You can look for someone to sell a quilt by making your own ad or searching an ad from a seller. The city where the seller lives can you see in the listings.

I am not entirely sure what you mean by “ripple stitch” but I am assuming that you mean a stitch something like this http://www.lionbrand.com/cgi-bin/faq-search.cgi?store=/stores/eyarn&faqKey=355&language=En or http://www.lionbrand.com/cgi-bin/faq-search.cgi?store=/stores/eyarn&faqKey=360&language=En or http://www.crochetcabana.com/tutorials/ripple.htm . These patterns are very simple. I hope that this is what you were looking for. Have a Great Day!

You can look up the yarns called for on the company’s website and see what gauge the yarn works to and substitute a yarn that will give you the same gauge. It should also tell you approximately what weight the yarn is that you are substituting for.

  13. thejanith Says:

Thread? String? What kind of afghan is this? Obviously you did not make it yourself, and probably are not experienced in the kind of needlecraft required to make it. The best advice would be to talk to someone who does at least one needlecraft — knitting, crocheting, weaving, etc — and ask him or her to look at it. It is imperative to know how the item was made before you can know how to fix it. You fix weaving differently than you fix crochet, which you fix differently than you’d fix knitting. Someone will need to look at it and then tell you.
