This is a pattern I’ve been using. It is very simple. I do it while walking on the tread mill at my gym. I’ve made several of these, and actually sold a couple online. It uses bulky weight yarn and a 6.5 hook. I use Redheart Baby Clouds.Chain 88. Row 1 Double crochet, chain1, double crochet all in 5th chain from hook {skip 2 chain, work vstitch in next ch} across to last 2 chain, skip 1 chain, double crochet in last chain.Row 2 Chain 3, turn. Work vstitch in each chain 1 space across, end double crochet in top of turning chain. Repeat row 2 until blanket is as long as you want. A vstitch is worked double crochet, chain 1, double crochet all in one stitch.

I glanced through this website…. http://crochetpatterncentral.com/directory.php .. and didn’t see it, but I wasn’t looking too closely. Even if it doesn’t help you in this case, it’s an excellent resource for finding patterns.

If I knew, I’d tell…My guess would be to try a Michael’s, if you have one. They have stuff like that, that you can do at home..Worth a try. I’m going to go look tomorrow, because I think that is a great idea! Good Luck..And if I find out where soon, I will let you know!!

That is just not right…now I have baby fever again! Those boots are sooooooooo cute.Definitely a one piece for newborns…for girl http://www.gap.com/browse/category.do?cid=7190 and boy http://www.gap.com/browse/category.do?cid=7142 I like the “favorite one piece” for both. My son used to wear those- so comfy. :) I miss my son in little one piece rompers…

Here’s a pattern for an adorable headband–it fairly shouts “girly girl!” http://promotions.drgnetwork.com/newsletters/talkingcrochet/pages/TCNL1707_patt1.htmlThis one uses elastic yarn so no additional elastic is required http://hooked-on-crochet.blogspot.com/2009/08/free-pattern-easiest-ever-baby-headband.html

I tack it on first and then I use a sewing maching to do it. It is hard but it CAN be done if you take your time. GOOD LUCK!!!!:O)

In the previous row, you should have made some spaces where you chain 2. In this row, you will make 2 double crochet stitches in that chain 2 space. Proceed across the entire row. You won’t leave any chain space between the double crochets.

If you have never crocheted before, obviously you need to learn. Since you are motivated that should not be a problem. You are probably spending a lot of time at the hospital and don’t have a lot of time to sit at the computer, but if you can spare a few moments with hook and yarn, check out my web site to learn the beginnings at http://www.crochetcabana.com . The patterns are all pdf downloads, but once you learn the basic stitches, you can make a beautiful crocheted blanket by just going along in rows and changing colors as fits your pattern. You could also use a variegated yarn which would give a nice pattern to your blankie. Having had two preemies myself, I know how you feel. Saying a prayer for your wee one. You might have a look at the granny square – there are lots of photos in that tutorial and it is quite popular. I’d learn the basic stitches first though.Good luck.

My advice, is to double crochet one row and single crochet back, double the next, single the next all the way to the end. The reason is this will keep your work from slanting and refreshes the foundation for every double knit row. You don’t have to use 2 strands, but 2 will probably give it just a bit more weight and body, thus added warmth.

Hmmm, pacifier holder, burp clothes, bottle cover, a mobile, teddy bear, washcloths, bath mitt. You’ll find lots of ideas and links to the directions here:http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/baby_selection.php.

hmmm I don’t see how you are going to do this. Doesn’t a baby’s car seat come across the shoulders and buckle with one between the legs? So both shoulders are held down and then the one between the legs.I can’t imagine how you would do an opening for a buckle. WHAT buckle? the one that connects all three? That is pretty big….Edit…Ok…this is one like my grandson has but his is brown and green. Graco is a good company.I have tried to find one on the internet to see if I could see how to do it and I did find one at Lands end that has an opening for a baby seat…look at it and see if that helps. Let me know I am curious.http://www.landsend.com/pp/CableFleecelinedBunting~178234_-1.html?bcc=y&action=order_more&sku_0=::XEV&CM_MERCH=IDX_00007__0000001031&origin=indexThis is a beautiful project by the way.
