This is a picture of the different stitches and how to make them. All you would have to know now is the lessons up to number 11. The rest is how to do the afghan stitch..Ch-chain hdc- half double chain dc double chain. There is also the tdc which would be wrapping the yarn around your needle 2 times and taking them off 2 at a time. Hope this will help you to read the instructions. If I can help you any further check my avatar and e-mail me and I will help you through the pattern. I was able to find a vido for knitting a bootie but you said crochet.http://www.craftown.com/crolesson.htm

You are joining the UPPER (the part that goes around the ankle; the “hi-top” part) to the TOE (that part that goes over the toes). When you get done joining those two parts, the top portion of the shoe will be completed and you’ll be ready to add the sole. You are working the joining from the INSIDE. Start exactly where the directions say by counting the rows of the Upper. Then when you start the sc stitches, it will become apparent what you are to do as you follow the directions. Thanks for the link to the pattern! Those booties are really cute, and I might just have to make some of them.
