Here is a link with lots to choose from but my favourite place to look is the public library in the hobby and craft section. They usually have a great variety of books from easy up to designer.

You are beginning a great hobby that is relaxing and make nice things as gifts or things for yourself. Here are some learn to crochet links and I hope that I help you with this. There are also learn to crochet books at a hobby lobby. Here are some links to help get you started and remember to have fun. Work with a easy yarn that is easy to see and always have good lighting.:-)http://learntocrochet.lionbrand.com/http://crochet.about.com/library/blbeginners.htmhttp://www.learntocrochet.com/Here are three links to help get you going if you need further assistance you can always email me at treena92770@netzero.com and put crochet help in subject line of email. I hope that I helped and I have taught others to crochet young and old but in person. I taught myself to crochet and knit. Remember to always have fun and practice each stitch. Start small projects then work yourself up to bigger projects like blankets and afghans.

My favorite site is:http://www.lionbrand.com/The patterns are free with a free membership.Just type in what you are looking for and many patterns will come up.I found this cute tunic:http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/60730A.html?noImages=You may be interested in joining http://www.ravelry.com/This is a place for knitters and crocheters to share their creations and many will offer their patterns for free. When I joined the membership approval took a few days. This is a good place to check out to get inspired. Have a great day.

I have yet to come across an effective method of “translating” patterns. It’s not only because the height/width don’t match up but also because the finished product is so different. They end up needing to be worked very differently whether knit or crochet.

You can read these two articles for information:http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art9515.asp/zzzhttp://www.ehow.com/how_2049906_publish-crochet-patterns.html

  9. Schorschi Says:

Register on Ravelry.com. It is a huge and hugely popular site with tons of patterns from beginner to expert. Registration takes a few days though, because you will be put on a waiting list. Don’t be impatient. It’s well worth the wait.
