Here is a link with lots to choose from but my favourite place to look is the public library in the hobby and craft section. They usually have a great variety of books from easy up to designer.

There are also learn to crochet books at a hobby lobby. Here are some links to help get you started and remember to have fun. Work with a easy yarn that is easy to see and always have good lighting.:-)http://learntocrochet.lionbrand.com/http://crochet.about.com/library/blbeginners.htmhttp://www.learntocrochet.com/Here are three links to help get you going if you need further assistance you can always email me at treena92770@netzero.com and put crochet help in subject line of email. I hope that I helped and I have taught others to crochet young and old but in person. I taught myself to crochet and knit. Remember to always have fun and practice each stitch. I have yet to come across an effective method of “translating” patterns. It’s not only because the height/width don’t match up but also because the finished product is so different. They end up needing to be worked very differently whether knit or crochet.

Register on Ravelry.com. It is a huge and hugely popular site with tons of patterns from beginner to expert. Registration takes a few days though, because you will be put on a waiting list. Don’t be impatient. It’s well worth the wait.

Crochet Pattern Central: http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory.phpAll of the yarn companies in the U.S. with broad appeal have web sites with both crochet and knitting patterns. I particularly like these two:Berroco: http://www.berroco.com/item_fr/fr_crochet.html Lion Brand: http://www.lionbrand.com/cgi-bin/patternList.fcgi?tXX=1&s=Crochet&l=1And Knitting Daily has some good ones: http://www.knittingdaily.com/blogs/patterns/archive/tags/Free+Patterns/Crochet/default.aspx
