Walking around Boston doesn’t have to be walking around aimlessly. Grab a friend, pack a picnic lunch, and walk along the Charles River. Enjoy your lunch along the way, and head towards the Science Museum. Check out a paint-your-own pottery place, Naked Clay, on Mass. Ave. Stroll Newbury Street and check out Sugar Heaven (I don’t need to tell you what’s there)! Take a Fenway tour, or get tickets to a game if you can! Play frisbee in the Fens on a sunny day! Check out Quincy Market & the performers in Government Center. There’s lots to do, just look around you!http://www.mos.org/http://www.nakedclaystudio.com/http://www.sugarheaven.us/candyboston.html (warning: there is annoying music on the homepage!)http://www.faneuilhallmarketplace.com/dining.html

I did Photography and Drama studies for SACE in year 11 and 12.You won’t die. I think art is good because you don’t have to study a lot and can fluff your way through it.Drama is okay, even if you are not a good actor they have to find something for you to do. One of my friends was stage manager/set designer. You’ll have to do essays and watch movies and plays which is great.Having said that, both subjects are REALLY time consuming. If you think you’ll get stressed out don’t take on extra committments (eg work, sport) or drop the ones you have now.I always thought that you had to do SACE in 2 years, otherwise you’ll be one of those losers who hang around high school. Not the case! I went back and did a few year 13 subjects the year after. Even though everyone says they are the most important years of your life, they’re not.If you are really worried, talk to your school counsellor, they might be able to give you help regarding picking up or dropping subjects. You could also drop a subject you don’t want and do it through Open Access or external classes. All the best :)

“Back on Blossom Street” by Debbie Macomber was just published by MIRA on April 24, 2007. The other “Knit Along with Debbie Macomber” titles by Leisure Arts were each published about a year after the corresponding novel.Leisure Arts has nothing about “Knit Along with Debbie Macomber: Back on Blossom Street” on their website, just the other three titles: http://www.leisurearts.com/customer_care/search/default.asp?search=macomberDebbie Macomber’s website says it’s “coming soon.” In the meantime, Leisure Arts has allowed her to post some of the patterns: http://www.debbiemacomber.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=page&pageID=15

Assuming that you are serious, and not making a joke: Most Afghani people don’t have a lot of leisure time for fun; working, and family/religious activities take up all of the day. However, theatre is popular in Afghanistan, and so is music, and poetry. Afghani weavers make gorgeous rugs, and even the humble grain bag is embroidered to make it a little more pretty. They also make lovely gold and silver jewelry, embroidery and leather work. They also have an active social life; several generations will live together in the same house.Children play a number of games as well: http://www.eafghans.com/afghanistan/article.php?id=138

I’m pretty sure the painting you are asking about was painted by Gustave Caillebotte, a French born artist who died in the late1890s. If so, this painting is, or was, part of the permanent collection of the Kimbell Art Museum in Texas. However, museums often trade or lend out some of their collection to other museums. Do a search on Caillebotte and you can track down which museum has the painting now.The Kimbell had, or still has, several of his paintings and you’ll quickly recognize his unique style. He did a half-dozen or so paintings using variations of the same subject.

http://www.leisureartslibrary.com/One of the patterns from it, according to Jennie Gaskin ofhttp://www.countryyarns.com is a rainbow ripple baby blanket, the most popular pattern from this leaflet. Since this is the pattern you wanted from it, you can buy it from LA itself. In the online catalog area, look under Crochet, then under Baby. It is item #8000006 and it is only $2.99, it is cute, I will definitely buy it myself someday LOL. Thanks to Jennie, I found this. This is a follow up to my prior answer, I told you she is quick to give feedback…:)

For a beginning level, I would jump on the “Leisure” part of the Arts and Leisure context, and try to make it a functional lesson… 1. It might be that a good number of your students are taking English to be able to speak more comfortably when travelling… Set up a few typical situations, and build simple dialogues around them, building on what the students know. Check in at the airport, check into a hotel, maybe look at a few restaurant menus. How to complain if something isn’t right, or asking for directions. Any text book should have lots of ideas for travel language.2. OR you could talk about sports and hobbies, elicit a list of olympic sports, maybe look at a few sports advertisements; there were some good ones around world cup time. Look at some unusual sports records, or even a bloopers video.
