Are you trying to incorporate the square into your item and don’t know how to do it or can’t find the pattern or exactly what do you want to do? I can find your answer more quickly if you email me.

I would be skeptical of doing icicles, won’t they curl? Or does the pattern say how to make them pointed and stiff. Sounds like a lot of work trying to get them to hang straight. Hmmm…

If there a lot of increases and you can’t find a way to work the pattern, I think you may have to forget the pattern you have. What kind of duck are you trying to make? Is it a stuffed duck or just a crochet picture of one? Contact me so I can find something similar for you or would you even consider making one in cross stitch?? I am more than willing to search for a pattern but can you give me the information?

http://www.lionbrand.com has tons of crochet patterns. Maybe you can find something you like. Remember you can always use a different yarn than the pattern calls for to get the effect you want.

It would seem like the body is similar to a leg or arm – just much wider. You would want to be narrow at the neck and where the legs join the body you will need to sew in a seam. I would begin at the lower edge and increase to make the body rounder. I would make it like a small pillow personally using the edges of the tube for the shoulders and neck to attach the head. If you are using an existing pattern – you would change the first line which is typically chains to add a slipped stitch and the end to join, and then based on the stitch pattern for the next row – chain one or two stitches to make sure the it matches. Now you will need to look at the pattern and instead of turning your work – go to the end of the row and work backwards because you are working from the right side only. On row 3 and all odd rows – work as directed. On rows 2 and all even rows – work from the end to the beginning – mirroring the stitches.Good luck

Here’s a place you can buy it:http://www.crochettreasures.com/books/vintagecrochet4.htmYou can also ask Jennie at Country Yarns. She’s very helpful finding patterns:http://www.countryyarns.com/I know this isn’t what you’re looking for, but just in case you decide you want to try it, it’s the Lord’s Prayer:http://www.angelfire.com/art2/imagegreations/free4.htmSome people take cross stitch and convert it to filet crochet… Perhaps you could do that with this one:http://www.anniesattic.com/detail.html?prod_id=21098FINALLY, I wonder if it’s not available, you could come up with your own? Check this site out, it has tips and tricks for making filet crochet:http://www.crochetdoilies.com/filet_crochet.htmlHope this helps!

I really like the Lion Brand pattern from the pp.I checked Crochet Pattern Central (link below) and couldn’t find anything that was specific to Autism. Perhaps you could crochet the ribbons and attach them to squares. You could make the ribbons multi-colored and attach them to squares made from his favorite color.Hope that helps!
