doll-toys Annies Attic Review and News

When Annies Attic arrived, I opened the package and was impressed with the solid packaging which insured Annies Attic didn’t arrive damaged in any way, shape, or form.

Overall, my experience was amazing. I hope this helps you make a solid buying decision.

I need some help with rows 22-25 in the six pointed star pattern i got from annie's attic.?
I keep doing what the pattern says and it's just not working out at all. I'm curious if it's just a misprint. If it is then can anyone please help me get through it????

No one will post it for you, it’s copyrighted. Maybe you’ll get lucky and someone will email you. But the pattern was re-issued due to high demand and is only $6.00 at Annie’s Attic. If she wants it that badly she can download it straight from there. ;)

I have not seen the book before but I have a feeling that is is tunisian crochet, very easy and addictive! here is a link to free tutorials to see if it is something you like. http://www.nexstitch.com/v_Tutorials.html

I’ve included their link below, I myself enjoy crochet as well. If you write to them they are more then happy to assist you either with the magazine itself or with the patterns that you would like to have. All you have to do is describe to them what you are looking for and what issue(s) it was in.I love several in a fire a while back and they were very happy to replace them for me.Good luck and happy hooking. (and before anyone has a dirty mind…That’s meant in a nice way).

I remember Plastic Canvas Corner. I don’t think they publish this anymore. I have found issues at yard sales, etc.

its frustrating when you need help right away and you have to wait. unfortunately no one here probably have the same pattern. it’s better to wait for the answer, or try contacting them again. are you on ravelry.com ? if not join it. i have seen alot of annies attic crochet pattern done by people you might find help on what you are looking for. either someone would have done it as well or in some forum.

You used too many Davids, substitute some of them with he. Also you need to work on showing instead of telling. You do a lot of the “He did this, then he did this. After that he did this”. Try something more like:David was running down a seemingly endless pitch black tunnel for what felt like minutes, his steps echoing off the floors. He felt a sense of urgency – he had to get to the end of the corridor. Then David heard a deep muffled voice whispering “Yes my lord I do agree he is the one you are looking for” He stopped, trying to determine where the voice was coming from. “Yes he is” replied another voice. And so on… I’m not sure exactly he was supposed to feel or what the tunnel looked like so I just thought of my own. It’s up to you to show your readers what they’re suppose to be seeing or how David was feeling. But it sounds like an interesting story and you should definitely keep working on it. Practice, I know you’ll get better =)

try asking same question on ravelry. which is a big knit and crochet community online. also knit and crochet realted questions are better answered in hobbies and crafts section of yahoo answers.

That’s what a lot of people have been saying. How sad, though. Adam loved Stuart dearly. He’s going to be racked with grief when it all comes out.

The only way to knit gloves (which are basically a series of tubes) on straight needles without massive uncomfortable seams would be with tubular (double) knitting. Given the number of times you’d have to put stitches on and off the needles and reorder them in order to do the fingers and the shaping for the thumb gusset, I don’t really see someone doing them that way except as an exercise to prove it could be done. Like the people knitting one sock inside the other. Mittens on straight needles, yes, but with a seam. You could find a pattern for mittens. But gloves, no you aren’t going to find a pattern like that for gloves on straight needles because there would be incredibly few people brave enough to try it. Gloves either need to be worked on DPNs or magic loop (or 2 circulars).I think she may be thinking of a mitten pattern or may just be misremembering the needles that were used.— edited to add —So I saw Aussie Sheila’s link and had to go see if she’d actually found one. I’ve made a lot of gloves, and this pattern is the typical way basic gloves are knit…on DPNs. You’ll find a very similar pattern in Ann Budd’s Knitter’s Handy Book of Patterns or any basic glove pattern. Note there is no mention of seams nor of tubular/double knitting because they are knit on DPNs.
