what type of accessory should i make?
For my fashion and fibers class, we have to do a project where we have to create any sort of accessory. It can be functional or Crochet Fashion conceptual. We have to use at least two processes we just learned (knitting, sewing, embroidering, and crocheting) and it has to have a theme of either child's play, monster, repetition, my favorite animal, or delicious. Does any one have any ideas as to what I should do? I have a few ideas but I really could use more. Thanks :D

You could attempt to teach fashion. By the time that you graduate hopefully we will be out of the recession so that will not be a factor./

The only place I can think of to download patterns is e-patterncentral. I noticed that Annie’s Attic is also doing a selection of pattern books in download format, but none of the doll patterns yet.

shirts: try forever 21, they have really cute/unique/in style shirts.only get one jacket that you will get a lot of wear out of same with shoes, only buy one pairpants: get 2 pairs of jeansshorts: get 2-3 pairs of shortsyou don’t need purses for schoolyou really only need one, so if you already have one then you’re finejewelry: try claires and forever 21 for cheap stuffthe best way to save money is to go through the stuff you already have. try wearing stuff that you didn’t wear a lot last year and stuff that you did wear a lot, pair it with other things. also, see where you have holes in your wardrobe. like, if you only have 2 good pairs of jeans but 17 shirts, buy some more jeans but not many shirts.hope this helped.

Pay great attention to the presentation of your items. If you have a booth does the display look fashion forward? Even the greatest crocheted items can look “granny” instead of hot if the setting to display them looks dated. If you have a display perhaps you can post a photo of the table so we can make suggestions. One thing that is always a big deal in hot beach climates is the crocheted bikini. You might give that idea some consideration and sell the tops and bottoms separately so that one can purchase just the top to wear with shorts. A loosely crocheted top is great over swim wear so that might also be an idea. Just make sure your presentation is wonderful.Good luck in your ventures! I wish I had the talent to crochet!EDIT: You might consider hiring a model to show your wares during the show.

definately uggs, i mean please ppl who say they are ugly are just jealous or their feet look bad in them, i mean the suede and furry stuff in the inside is like walking on a pillow, and they look reallly cute, i mean that’s why half the population owns them ( well where i live anyway), get the uggs, i like the crochet ones, but maybe check out different colors too! definatley get them ( i love mine)

How about rug braiding? It is fun, pretty easy to learn, and you produce a very usable item. It’s also a traditional craft and you can produce rugs in the primitive colors and designs or use more contemporary colors and styles. There is a rug braiders group in YAHOO GROUPS. Check it out and see if there is something there you find interesting. There is also a braid-in coming up in October in Maine. Thanks!

Hi Cindy! I like to make the first row and have it complete. Then on the first motif of the second row attach it to the side of the very first motif. the second motif in the second row is attached on 2 sides to the first row and the first motif in the second row.If you think this is going to be a project you may not care to make quite that large. then do 4 motifs and start doing rounds of the primary square of the 4 motifs after that. That way it could be finished when you get totally bored with the whole thing, or you could even make it larger than original pattern if you wanted a bedspread out of it later.Crocheting motifs is so much fun sometimes. You can make it do whatever you want it to do. Give it your own brand of uniqueness!!!
