In case you need some more details, here is a full description and review of Doll Toy:
In this review of Doll Toy, I am going to show you both the good and the bad. After all, what is a review without some honesty, right? First, I have to tell you upfront that Doll Toy is my favorite choice. Sure, there are other products in the same class, but frankly, none of them as good (in terms of quality). I do have to say this though. some other products may be better, but based on quality and price, Doll Toy is the clear winner.
Do doll/figurine/toy collectors play with the toys sometimes?
I'm interested to know, the ones that take them out of the box... do they Doll Toy play with them sometimes? Like change their clothes brush their hair or whatever? Because I think that would be cute... I had a dream last night and this woman was 40 and playing with Barbies which is why I asked, maybe a doll/figuring/toy collector can answer. Thanks!

I can’t remember the last time I saw the metal crib. I thought they were great but I haven’t seen them in years. Everything is hard plastic now.

I made one for my granddaughter in about a half hour. First, I folded a big piece of paper in half. Then, I drew a half doll shape on the fold (like you’re doing cutout paper dolls). Cut this out, open it up, there’s your doll pattern. I pinned this to 2 pieces of muslin that I cut about 3 inches larger than the pattern all the way around. Cut out pattern leaving 1/4 to 1/2 inches for seam allowance. Once you’ve cut it out, remove paper and repin. Sew all the way around leaving about a 3″ place open for turning, I made mine on the side of the body because I also made a dress. Turn the doll right side out. Now, before I stuffed it, I used embroidery thread and made hair and a face, nothing fancy. You could also use yarn for the hair and paint the face. Once that was done, I used a bamboo skewer to stuff the doll as tightly as I could and then sewed the turning/stuffing hole closed with a whipstitch. There’s your basic doll. I used the doll pattern to make a dress, just add a little extra space between the pattern and your seam allowance to make it big enough to fit over her head. I hope this makes sense! My grandaughter has dozens of babies, but this one’s her favorite!

The vintage Patti playpals are no longer suitable for children due to the plastic is now brittle and will not hold up to play. I have several hundred vintage companion dolls. Ashton Drake in the last few years have made reproduction playpals and they are made of vinyl so they are very tough but heavier than the vintage playpals. Some discount stores, sell a doll called Wispy Walker she comes in 30″ and 40″ tall . They are very cheap and very cheaply made…decal eyes, atrocious hair but cheap enough you won’t worry about the child playing with it. I think an 8 year old may want a better quality doll.JMO.http://cgi.ebay.com/Patty-Playpal-Doll-Ashton-Drake-Galleries-50s-repro_W0QQitemZ250534242670QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3a5501296e
