I cannot tell you how happy I am with my Attic Crochet. Man, this thing is getting better and better as I learn more about it.
Has anyone tried ANNIE 'S ATTIC KNIT ONE PURL ONE IN CROCHET and what do you Attic Crochet think of the results?
I crochet well, but love the look and feel of knit. I am wondering if this method will achieve that look.

The only place I can think of to download patterns is e-patterncentral. I noticed that Annie’s Attic is also doing a selection of pattern books in download format, but none of the doll patterns yet.

Unfortunately, I have no idea where you would be able to find an old Annie’s Attic pattern except for EBay, but I have a link that you might be interested in http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/foods.php . After looking through some of the weird patterns (like the sushi) there are some really cute patterns for different sweets. Hope you find what you are looking for. Good Luck!

No one will post it for you, it’s copyrighted. Maybe you’ll get lucky and someone will email you. But the pattern was re-issued due to high demand and is only $6.00 at Annie’s Attic. If she wants it that badly she can download it straight from there.

It’s not on eBay and it’s not in Annie’s Attic. I suggest that you contact Jennie Gaskin from Country Yarns. She might have it, and if not, she might know where to get it, if it’s available:http://www.countryyarns.com/UPDATE:I found this…. could it be what you’re looking for?http://cgi.cafr.ebay.ca/CROCHET-THE-BIRTH-OF-CHRIST_W0QQitemZ130190282983QQihZ003QQcategoryZ3095QQcmdZViewItem

I’ve included their link below, I myself enjoy crochet as well. If you write to them they are more then happy to assist you either with the magazine itself or with the patterns that you would like to have. All you have to do is describe to them what you are looking for and what issue(s) it was in.I love several in a fire a while back and they were very happy to replace them for me.Good luck and happy hooking. (and before anyone has a dirty mind…That’s meant in a nice way).

its frustrating when you need help right away and you have to wait. unfortunately no one here probably have the same pattern. it’s better to wait for the answer, or try contacting them again. are you on ravelry.com ? if not join it. i have seen alot of annies attic crochet pattern done by people you might find help on what you are looking for. either someone would have done it as well or in some forum.

The pattern at About.com that was mentioned has the same name as the pattern that you asked for and it’s a nice pattern but it’s completely different than the pattern that was published by Annie’s Attic (so not the one you were looking for). The Cathedral Windows Afghan Square free pattern on this page: http://crochet.about.com/library/weekly/aa072598.htm is worked in rows. You said that the pattern you’re looking for is worked in rounds. The one you are looking for is most likely the afghan pattern in the Annie’s Attic pattern book named “Award-Winning Afghans”. There’s a group that did a crochet-along with this afghan (they had each purchased the pattern book). The page telling about that crochet-along states that “Annie’s Attic may re-release the pattern some time in 2007″ but that’s not confirmed yet. There’s a photo of the book cover, showing what the Annie’s Attic Cathedral Windows afghan looks like, on this page: http://www.precision-guesswork.com/cathedral-cal.html Also, scrolling down that page, there are progress photos by someone who is crocheting that afghan. A search on eBay with the keywords: Award-Winning Afghans brought up some results of auctions with that pattern book for sale at http://www.ebay.com One last note, something that you may not realize: It was surprising to see someone openly asking for an illegal reproduced copy of a copyrighted pattern, which many people know is what “someone who … will share it with me” translates into. The pattern that you asked for, that Annie’s Attic published in 1994, is still under copyright protection (even when out of print, it’s still protected by the copyright date; only the publisher has the legal right to reprint it or give permission for anyone else to reproduce it). Here’s a page where the owner of Annie’s Attic tells how giving a reproduced copy of a copyrighted pattern for free is still illegal (when you don’t have written permission from the copyright owner), even if no money was charged: http://www.drgnetwork.com/pages/copyrights/index.html It had seemed that many people have become aware of this and are not wanting to publicly ask if anyone is willing to “share” a copyrighted pattern, in other words asking in a public message if anyone is willing to do something illegal for them. It’s just good to know about this.

I live in a dusty area too. I keep it in those clear-ish Totes with a clear blue lid, in a closet. What does not fit into the totes is in cardboard boxes (sorted by color) turned on their sides and stacked, with the tops kept open and facing out (so I can see them all) kept in that same closet. This keeps them pretty dust free and visable each time I open the closet. If that’s not dust free enough for you, try storing them in 1 gallon (or larger if you can find them) ziplock bags.I keep my hooks, scissors needles etc in a plastic sandwich bag at my desk along with other misc supplies, I tried the glasses case and found them to short for my hooks. You can also keep yout hooks and scissors in a pencil cup on the desk. I file all my patterns and soap recipes in my desk file drawer, since this is where I do all the research and planning of what to make next.
