Most Barbies are identified by the color of their eyes as well as their hair….http://www.dolls4play.com/BARBID.HTMmost of the earlier versions were blue..then greeneven brown {barbie’s friends}interesting to note that the very first Barbie had white eyeshttp://www.dolls4play.com/idguide/idbarb01.jpg**

The poem Barbie Doll delineates the far-reaching consequences of a women’s concern with her appearance as measured by an external ideal. Read the info at this link.http://www.answers.com/topic/barbie-doll-poem-7

You might be thinking of Dawn dolls.Dawn dolls are small fashion dolls that were made by Topper between 1970 and 1973. The dolls were smaller than Barbie dolls, slightly over 6″ in height.I remember having one as a child.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dawn_doll<3 Dolls

I’ve got a better idea. If your mall close to you has a build a bear workshop, go in there and build a teddy bear or rabbit or something like that. If it’s for a kid, they will like that better.

I’m a doll artist. My one of a kind Barbie dolls have been in the October 2004 issue of Barbie Bazaar magazine, and my Obitsu dolls are on the covers of the “Pretty Little Liars” series of books. You HAVE to use acrylic paint. Using oil paints will cause the vinyl to deteriorate over time, and using any kind of enamel (including spraypaint) will just cause tackiness because the paint will never dry. Many doll artists agree that the best and most easiest paints to use are Golden Fluid Acrylics, and then you’ll also want to use a very small paintbrush (I like the Loew Cornielle miniature brushes in size 18/0). Remember, always thin your paint before painting your doll. Five or six thin layers is much better than one thick, goopy layer, even though it’s more time consuming to paint in layers. You’re going for a factory look, and as such, you never want to show any brushstrokes.Golden and Liquitex make some very nice sealers. You’ll want to use a matte sealer for eyeshadow, and you’ll want to use a gloss sealer for eyeballs. Lips can be sealed in matte, gloss, or satin, whichever you prefer. If you’re interested in rerooting your dolls with new hair, you can visit my doll hair site, http://www.dollyhair.com. We sell saran hair, which is what Barbie dolls are rooted with at the Mattel factory.Be sure that you do ALL of your hair work (including styling) before you do your repaint. If you reroot the head or style the hair after you’ve already painted the face, you can damage your repant.

Any dollar store in your area will have Barbie dolls without accessories. Try Dollar General or Family Dollar, they are the two in my area that carry real Barbies. Some of the other dollar stores carry cheaply made, knock-off 11-1/2-inch fashion dolls. Buy her a friend or two … Barbie might get lonely in that doll house alone. Good luck!

It refers to an incident in Arizona, where a Wal-Mart store lowered the price of an hispanic Barbie doll in an attempt to sell it – basic economics. Some people saw the brown skin, assumed it was a black Barbie doll, and posted pictures of it on various websites like Fail Blog, etc. Blacks who saw it were outraged that the brown Barbie was cheaper than it’s white counterpart, crying racism, when in reality they were generalizing that the doll was black because it had brown skin, which is actually pretty rascist within itself.

I don’t know of any, but the Gaithersburg (near DC) Doll Show is this weekend, you can go check out the Barbie dealers there, there will be plenty to choose from!

Mattel started to do this, then canceled the program because it was too costly. Look for one of a kind barbie artists and ask them to make you one.

What you’re trying to do is referred to as ‘re-rooting’ Barbie hair. It is normally saved for vintage and collector dolls as it can be expensive and normally needs to be sent to a professional. I’d recommend creativity at this point. Many Barbie dolls (and My Scene dolls) I used to have experienced full makeovers where they would receive top notch Barbie care (par moi) and I would take a pair of scissors to their little 6 dollar heads of hair. They would come out with hair so gorgeous you’d never know what they were before.Personally, unless this doll is very special (and really worth it) I’d recommend a makeover via hair trim.: ) Happy trails

Aside from fiction and optical illusions, the best you could do was with shrunken head or mummification technology. None of these shrink bone, so you could never reach doll size.In the civilized world, you would be at risk of prosecution for violating local health codes, which limit the options for things like burial and cremation. If she’s still alive, you’re at obvious risk of prosecution for murder.

It is very hard and costly to make a custom doll that too from a company like mattel. But there are artists who can repaint a barbie doll on a previous painted face. The structure however wont look similar.

On the contrary, I think it mocks and overemphasises the sterilised dehumanisation that cloning people would involve. Barbie is often used in a cynical way to demonstrate things like conformity and deindividualization.
