If you are looking for Crochet Doll then you are in the right place. Check out this review:
In this review of Crochet Doll, I’m going to show you both the good and the bad. After all, what’s a review without some honesty, right? First, I have to tell you upfront that Crochet Doll is my favorite choice. Sure, there’s other products in the same class, but frankly, none of them as good (in terms of quality). I do have to say this though. some other products may be better, but based on quality and price, Crochet Doll is the clear winner.

I can assure you Disney does not release rights to small crafters where they have no product control. And I’m betting you if she pulled that on a larger, more regulated site like eBay they would have been yanked already. Thing is, the only thing she’s really risking at this point is a “cease and desist” so she’s probably going to do it until such time. One way to find out is just to report her – you’ll know soon enough if those items were removed or allowed to stay. Disney and Marvel are two of the biggest names to go after copyright issues.

Have you checked out Crochetpatterncentral.com? I always check there first! There are tons of doll clothes patterns there(see sources). If you see something you like but it’s not the right size you can probably adjust the pattern to make it work. Let me know if you need help doing that.Check out this thread on Crochetville, too, there was a whole discussion about doll clothes for 18″ dolls:http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=41666

I imagine you could make clothes from American Girl patterns, and alter the size to fit. The A.G. dolls are 18-20″ so I don’t think it would be too difficult to add a little length to the clothes or use a larger hook to get a slightly larger gauge. This site has a few patterns designed for My Twinn dolls. Scroll down a bit to find them:http://www.morrisseydolls.com/crochdoll.htmlThis blog has a few free A.G. patterns:http://bellabambinaknits.blogspot.com/

Do you mean the cap like in this pic? http://store.americangirl.com/images/F6310_main_3.jpgIt appears to be circular motifs joined together and then finished with a scalloped edged band. If you are making this for a doll, i would used a baby sized pattern (or just a small hook to make the gauge smaller)First find a good pattern for crocheted circular doilies that are about 3 or 4 inches in diameter and then make 5 or so of them and then join 4 onto the middle (5th one) and then join the sides of each of the 4. This should make a bowl shape, if it doesn’t try it with more doilies. Then make an edge around the edge of the bowl. http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/doilies.phpI would suggest making a few scull caps to see how they are constructed.

Here’s a few links for a few basic dolls. Have fun.Raggedy Ann Rag Dollhttp://yarneverywhere.blogspot.com/2006/06/crochet-chiffon-doll-this-is-basis-for.htmlCaptain Andrew Rag Dollhttp://donnascrochetdesignstheblog.blogspot.com/2007/11/captain-andrew-rag-doll-crochet-pattern.htmlBunting Dollhttp://members.optusnet.com.au/we2/buntingdoll.htmlHere’s a link for topsy-turvy Dolls. The main body is knit, as well as the arms, but you could just single crochet a strip for the body, as well as for the arms.http://www.knitting-crochet.com/crochet/toptur.html~~~~If you go to the link for the Raggedy Ann Doll, you’ll see the same “body” pattern is used for several dolls (there are four in the picture). The steps to make the “naked” doll are the first steps provided. Depending upon the color your choose for the skin and hair, will define more details about the “naked” doll you choose to make. The facial details are as detailed as you wish them to be. They’re made using embroidery stitches. (mouth, eyes, nose, eye brows, etc.)

Back in the ’80s Annie’s Attic had a doll called “Debbie Ann” that was relatively similar in size and style to the CP dolls. Occasionally it shows up on ebay but usually for a hefty price.

We were just discussing this on the ConnecticutCrochet group! If you have the latest A.G. catalog you can almost determine the pattern by studying it; I think some motifs in Donna Kooler’s “encyclopedia of crochet” might do the trick. If you don’t have the book, check with your local library; they may also be able to do an intra-library loan with another library in your state if they don’t have it.~Dee StanzianoCYCA Certified Crochet Teacher

I found this one using a search engine: http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=53451 It uses a size 3 steel hook, so you should be able to use #10 crochet thread doubled. Or you could do the bikini bottom from this pattern: http://www.crochetnmore.com/fashiondollbikini.htm .You can find free Barbie crochet patterns at http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/barbie_fashion.php

I’m not experienced at embroidery, but I am a crocheter, you can embroider the lips, eyes, etc, leave a longer tail of thread/yarn. insert your hook from a different angle and pull the yarn in so it stays inside. you can do this before you stuff, it would be easier. Good luck.
