dolls Dress Pattern information and auctions!

If you are looking for Dress Pattern then you are in the right place. Check out this review:

In this review of Dress Pattern, I’m going to show you both the good and the bad. After all, what’s a review without some honesty, right? First, I have to tell you upfront that Dress Pattern is my favorite choice. Sure, there’s other products in the same class, but frankly, none of them as good (in terms of quality). I do have to say this though. some other products may be better, but based on quality and price, Dress Pattern is the clear winner.

When buying a dress pattern does it matter what size it is?
I love 1940, and 50's fashion, and all the fashion patterns for that Dress Pattern era are online, but I can't found any in my size, there either like size 11, 14, etc, and I'm 8, or 9, so I'm wondering does it matter when I buy the pattern it's not my size? Because don't I just adust it when I sew?Never used pattern before

this is what i do: measure yourself then make your patternmeasure the width of the pattern; remebering to add 1.5cm for each seam, match the width of the pattern to your measurements, making sure each of your pieces are equal (like each both side pieces, both back pieces…however your pattern is, basically, don’t add/substract on one side but not on the other)

Where do you want your waistline to be? That is where you measure. I like it a little below my bellybutton. Just a little lower then the natural waist. Do not worry about the sizes. I was really upset when I started sewing because of that. I called my mom crying… and I am way to old to be doing that.

This Butterick pattern could be easily modified to create that dress.http://butterick.mccall.com/b4131-products-1127.php?page_id=153It has the princess seaming and a version with the cap sleeve. The neckline could be slightly re-cut to create that scalloped sweetheart affect in the front. Though this is a top and skirt, they could be combined into one garment during the sewing process by fitting the rough assembled skirt on each girl and then pinning the top over it and adding a seam along the hem of the top and a full back zip to the connected pieces (the excess fabric above the seam on the skirt would be cut away). The sash can be added easily.Or you could make it two piece as shown (which would make the dresses more versatile — your bridesmaids could use the tops later with a black skirt for evening wear.) The look would be the same.If you have basic sewing experience none of those alterations would be difficult at all. And, of course, a seamstress would have no problem adapting it either.EDIT: Sorry — first link I posted was wrong pattern number– I just changed it. Look at the pink top second from right below the two photos for the top.

I always cut newspaper to make each piece of the dress. Use a measuring tape to make sure it will fit you. You could also lay out the dress you already have and just add about an inch to each side for seam allowance. Then trace that and cut it out of the newspaper. Good Luck!

Here is a pattern currently available on eBay. It’s McCall’s 4948, and view B is ‘Alice’. You may be able to find it in fabric stores, too, but I can’t give you specifics.http://cgi.ebay.com/Misses-Sz-8-22-Assortment-Sewing-Pattern-McCalls-4948_W0QQitemZ310192033646QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20100104?IMSfp=TL100104015006r37682Good luck!
