http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com is THE best single source for free patterns on the net. They include patterns from the yarn manufactures sites, from commercial sites such as Joanns, and from personal blogs. There are literally thousands of patterns of all types and of all skill levels.

Here is a link with lots to choose from but my favourite place to look is the public library in the hobby and craft section. They usually have a great variety of books from easy up to designer.

Crochet Pattern Central: http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory.phpAll of the yarn companies in the U.S. with broad appeal have web sites with both crochet and knitting patterns. I particularly like these two:Berroco: http://www.berroco.com/item_fr/fr_crochet.html Lion Brand: http://www.lionbrand.com/cgi-bin/patternList.fcgi?tXX=1&s=Crochet&l=1And Knitting Daily has some good ones: http://www.knittingdaily.com/blogs/patterns/archive/tags/Free+Patterns/Crochet/default.aspx

Why is it necessary to copy and paste them? If you’re going to email them to your friend, just send her the links and she can look at the complete pattern herself right at the source. If she doesn’t have email, just print them off directly from the screen for her. There is no need to copy and paste full patterns including photos unless you’re trying to get around copyright or advertising, which is illegal. Most sites that offer free patterns make up their lost revenue in not charging for the patterns by using advertising. It’s a small price to pay when you consider someone took a considerable amount of time to create and publish the pattern.

Check out Redheart.com they can maybe help you with your question. If my dear Mother was alive I could call her, she was an avid yarner, crochet and knitting was her first love. I have all her hand work and crochet needles and knitting needles. From chair coverings to full length crocheted pineapple design, tableclothes and doillies.I can do a little chain stitching and knitting but nothing like she was able to create.

Here are a couple of sites you may want to bookmark:www.coatsandclark.comwww.lionbrand.comBoth these site have lots of helps and tutorials and patterns. One thing both have is a translation page. You can translate all the abbreviations and pattern-speak with those pages. That way, you can read patterns that were written for anyone. How about a cellphone case? Can you figure out how to make one? Work at it a little, and I think you’ll get it.
