I'm looking for free sites to print vintage and antique Crochet Patterns ?
Hello. I am looking for as many free vintage crochet patterns as I can possibly get! For Christmas this year, I am compiling a huge folder of patterns for my Mom. She loves to crochet with vintage patterns, Vintage Crochet but has so many books in her collection already, I'm scared to buy her any more (in case I accidentally get duplicates of ones she already owns). So, I went out and bought a whole bunch of paper and ink to print a large assortment of them. I am looking for doilies (pineapple patterns especially), and any other pattern from the 1950's and before. I do have many already, but am still looking for more. So I thought this would be a great way for everyone to post links to sites and free ebooks of their favorite patterns so that we can all share. Thanks!!!

Ooh, i love the vintage edging books. I just bought a few the other day to do pillows as well. What i did for the first one was to crochet the edging and then take a thread that matches and stitch them very carefully around the wide hem on the pillowcase. Mine is not hanging free off the edge of the pillow, its more laying on the wide seam and its sewed at both the top and the bottom of the edging, if that makes sense. Its more like an applique. That actually took me longer than the crocheting, when you consider that i washed and ironed the pillowcases, washed and ironed the edging (i was afraid that it might block bigger than i originally planned on), pinned it to the pillowcase, and then was VERY careful about making my stitches small and strong, but still pretty from both sides. I might do the sheets too, actually, on the top hem i was thinking about doing the edging there too, if i have the time. Otherwise I did buy the matching sheets. If i ever did this for myself I’d be tempted to do the bed skirt, too, but I’d chose a pattern that isn’t as fussy, I’d want it to be more simple.

wow, you got a lot. I got small gifts from friends, a stuffed animal, the latest Harry Potter DVD, chocolate, a sweater, boots, and money. I’m gonna get more money tonight when I meet with my relatives.

Yes, you can just sew the crochet edging onto the pillow. With the raw edge, what about first hemming that so that you have a clean line at the edge? Not sure how that would work with your holes though. If you do cover the holes, you can always just sew the crochet edge onto the pillow case.Happy sewing!

“My Etsy-Bitsy Shop”. I love Etsy. I purchased some very nice things there, and the people that sell are so nice, and answer my e-mails when I have questions. Good luck!

Bucilla (the company) is no longer in business. They were bought out by Plaid Corp. Try their website. (apparently they no longer carry hooks and needles) http://www.plaidonline.com/home.aspYou can also take your needles in to a good yarn shop and someone may know if they’re worth anything. Or try e-bay and see if you can find similar ones and see what they are selling for. But since there are a lot of hooks and needles available I don’t think they are worth as much in monetary value as they are in sentimental value.

Etsy is gaining a lot of popularity as time goes on, and recognition. Yeah sometimes people will copy your stuff, but when you find a unique item you can make, people won’t be able to reproduce it, especially if you have one-of-a-kind fabrics or other materials. There are hundreds of stitch markers available, for example, but one kind will stand out to a certain person. As the ofirst answerer said, patterns can be a good way to make money as long as you are able to write instructions well.Etsy is probably not the place to sell a ton of items and make millions but if you have a blog or other places you can put your name out there, you could draw in some supplemental income. Don’t be afraid to try it!

Have a yard sale or put an ad in the paper. Some people are always on the look out for items like these.
